Gwen Stefani has thanked Blake Shelton for "kissing [her] back to life".
The 47-year-old musician has opened up about her experiences of being "in a pool of tears" last year after her split from ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, and has thanked her current partner and fellow singer – who she met on TV talent show ‘The Voice’ – for helping her get back on her feet.
Speaking at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in Los Angeles on Monday (14.11.16), where the ‘Hollaback Girl’ hitmaker was named Woman of the Year, she said: "A year and a half ago, I was in a pool of tears. And I was so disappointed, and I was so low, I didn’t think that there was any way I could pick myself back up. I just remembered that God gave me a gift and I just wanted to use that gift again so badly.
I just started pouring my heart into music. And music has saved my life. I’m so thankful to everyone around me who helped me this year, it was a magical time.
"I want to say thank you to everyone who ever listened to my music, to my children, to my family. To Blake Shelton for kissing me back to life, thank you so much. I’m blown away."
And the ‘Rich Girl’ singer also took the time to express her amazement at being handed the award, explaining how she "never thought" she would "make an impact".
She said: "No way in my life would I have ever dreamed that this would be happening to me right now. I never thought I would touch anyone’s lives or make an impact in any way so… You could be next, you never know!
"I just want to say that I was on my way here driving by myself in the limo and I was like ‘How did this happen? How did I get here?’"
