Gregory Finnegan teases Hollyoaks flashback episode

Hollyoaks’ James Nightingale’s troubled past will be explored in tonight’s (29.06.18) flashback episode as he is determined to find out who framed him for murder.
Gregory Finnegan has admitted his character is "due some comeuppance" but teased fans they will see why he has made certain decisions when he travels back in time to his first few days at Forbes Carney, where he meet’s Sami’s father, Kashif, who he frames for embezzlement, resulting in his arrest.
He said: "James is a bit lost at sea. He can’t work out who has framed him and in a drunken stupor, starts to go through the various people who might be held responsible, with revelatory results…
"If he can find the culprit, then he can hopefully clear his name. He doesn’t want to go to jail for the rest of his life.
"There are things he regrets, for sure. We will see some of them over the course of next week, but we will also see why he’s made the decisions he’s made.
"James has made mistakes and wronged certain parties to try and help his family, so he is due some comeuppance. Whether he is deserving of the punishment, is for the viewers to decide."
‘Hollyoaks’ fans will also find out more about James’ evil father Mac Nightingale (David Easter) in the E4 flashback episode.
Gregory said: "He has a very dark streak running through his veins. He has victimised James since he was a little boy and is unrepentant, so that’s pretty evil!"
James will be comforted by his mother Marnie Nightingale (Lysette Anthony) in the episode, and Gregory loves working with the former ‘Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’ actress.
He said: "Wonderful. She a brilliant collaborator and an even better friend."
