Gregory Finnegan hoping for ‘fun’ Hollyoaks romance for James after shock smooch

Gregory Finnegan is hoping ‘Hollyoaks’ fans will find his character James Nightingale’s romance with Liam Donovan "undoubtedly fun to watch".
The 39-year-old star has hinted James and Liam’s (Jude Monk McGowan) shock smooch, which occurred on last night’s (12.12.19) E4 episode, could well turn into a "full-blown relationship".
Asked how he thinks fans will have reacted to the surprise kiss, he said: "I hope they’ll see that having two guys, who are used to being top dog, have a romance will undoubtedly be fun to watch.
"I have every reason to think that it could turn into a full blown relationship but it’ll definitely be fun."
Jude added: "I think they’d certainly make a powerful duo of nefariousness and darkness."
And Gregory admitted he enjoys working with Jude.
He said: "It’s been great fun. He’s turned Liam into a wonderfully layered character and I’ve enjoyed our scenes very much."
The soap’s supporters are also in for an exciting festive period when the show’s flash forward episode airs on E4 on December 27th, and Gregory has admitted it is going to be a "wild ride" on ‘Hollyoaks’ leading up to December 2020.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I’m not directly one of the flash forward-ers.
"But Romeo is and I know what he’s getting up to, so presumably that is going to impact pretty heavily on James as well.
"I’m excited in that I know what he’s doing.
"How we get to that point is going to be a wild ride."
