Gregg Wallace’s wife has addressed their 21-year age gap, insisting it is "just a number".
The 54-year-old TV presenter’s significant other Anne-Marie Wallace – who he shares two-month-old son Sid with – says age isn’t important, and the ‘MasterChef’ co-host admits he still feels "lucky" to have met his soulmate.
She said: "I don’t think age matters at all, it is just a number."
Gregg added: "I honestly now believe it’s a complete and utter game of chance. I’m not a different person. I’ve just met someone who really likes and who appreciates who I am.
"The chances of meeting someone who has got what you want and you’ve got what they want, it’s got to be luck."
As well as Anna, Gregg also lives with her mum Rina Sterpin, who he bonded with during drunken phone calls when he first started dating his now-wife.
Speaking in a joint interview on ‘Lorraine’, he added: "I don’t know what we would do without her [Rina].
"When I started dating Anna, and I would get insecure because she’s young and beautiful, I would phone Anna and she would put me on the phone to her mum.
"Sometimes if I’d been out drinking, a couple of times I spent about an hour chatting to her mum."
Gregg previously admitted having his mother-in-law living with him gave him more security about his relationship.
He said: "Anne can’t leave me because mum would have to leave as well, so for an insecure old man with a younger woman, that’s good news.
"It’s made a family home for them now Anne and her mum are here all the time."
