Gregg Wallace wants his own cookery show.
The 51- year-old presenter has decided to ditch his ‘Masterchef’ sidekick John Torode to go solo after holding talks with bosses about hosting his own TV programme.
Speaking exclusively to BANG showbiz, he said: "I’m making another series of ‘Eat Well for Less’ and I’m making another series of ‘Inside the Factory’. And I have got some ideas for my own television shows as well."
The culinary expert has 12 potential ideas up his sleeve but he has admitted nothing has been commissioned, yet.
He said: "I have written up 12 ideas. They are all different."
When asked if his future projects may include a return to ‘Saturday Kitchen’ – which Gregg initially hosted when it made its debut in 2002 – he rejected it in favour of his other secretive pursuits.
He said: "I think you have to give up every Saturday morning and I don’t think I have got it to give. I would rather fulfill the work obligations I have got at the moment. If I said yes to ‘Saturday kitchen’, I wouldn’t be able to do ‘Saturday Kitchen’, I haven’t got the Saturday mornings to give."
