Great British Bake Off Val Stones will jet off on a baking trip to Ayia Napa

‘Great British Bake Off’s Val Stones is set to jet off on a baking trip to Ayia Napa.
The 66-year-old contestant – who was the fifth person to be booted off the BBC One cooking show during Pastry Week on September 21 – is rumoured to be travelling to the popular party destination in Cyprus for a food-orientated vacation.
This news was announced at the end of Wednesday’s (26.10.16) finale when viewers were given an update on all of the contestant’s plans for the future.
And this season’s champion Candice Brown has revealed she plans to link up with runner up Jane Beedle and embark on a road trip as the duo travel to new destinations and discover new delicacies, continue their passion for baking and tuck into their tasty treats.
However, they aren’t the only ones to hit the road in the aftermath of the show, which is set to move to Channel 4 for the next series, as Selasi Gbormittah plans to drive off into the sunset on his motorbike.
And last night’s episode meant the end of the partnership between the show’s hosts Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, who have both judged the tray bakes and showstoppers since 2010.
Although the 81-year-old culinary queen, Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins have decided to quit the popular programme out of "loyalty" to the BBC when it switches to Channel 4 next year, the blue-eyed silver fox has revealed he hopes to remain friends with his co-stars, despite agreeing a mega-money three-year deal to move with the show.
Speaking previously, Paul, 50, said: "I’ve known Mary for 12 years and I’ll always be mates with her.
"In fact, she phoned me up yesterday saying, ‘Where are you?’ because normally I pop in to see her and I haven’t seen her in a couple of weeks.
"I think for me, when they picked me to do the job seven years ago, I was really shocked that I was given the chance to do this programme.
"To see it grow over the years. I just couldn’t walk away from my job. I think it comes down to I love doing my job. I love evangelising about baking and passing the word on and I will carry on doing that."
