Graham Norton doesn’t think The Great British Bake Off will be as good on Channel 4

Graham Norton thinks ‘The Great British Bake Off’ "will never be as good" on Channel 4.
The 53-year-old chat show host – who is currently starring alongside ex-‘Bake Off’ presenter Mel Giedroyc on new programme ‘Let it Shine’ – thinks the show’s departure from the BBC is "sad for everybody."
He shared: "Love productions is looking bad, Channel 4 looks a bit stupid, for everyone else it’s collateral damage.
"’Bake Off’ was about the four presenters and there’s no alchemy which will be very hard to replicate. No matter how good it is on Channel 4, it will never be as good as it was on BBC: even if all four had gone, somehow it would have been sullied. But in the end it’s a show about cakes and we’ll get on with our lives."
Meanwhile, Graham admitted he is curious to see how much other BBC presenters earn when the corporation’s top talent salaries are released in 2017.
Graham – who is rumoured to be the second-highest paid presenter behind Gary Lineker – told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "When it’s published, I will be looking to see how much everyone else gets, but it’s none of my business. Only something like eight per cent of the BBC’s budget goes on on-screen talent.
"I always think, surely the story is, ‘What the f**k is the other 92 per cent spent on?’ That’s much more interesting, but no one seems to care. No one’s gunning for Ant and Dec or Simon Cowell."
