Gorillaz LP could feature rejected Adele songs

Damon Albarn has hinted that he might use songs Adele rejected on the new Gorillaz album.
The 48-year-old musician has been recording fresh material since last September for the animated band’s first LP since 2011’s ‘The Fall’ and when asked if he plans on using material recorded with the ‘Hello’ hitmaker, he didn’t say no.
He said: "I never waste anything."
The ‘Feel Good Inc’ hitmaker previously revealed he had worked on Adele’s latest album ’25’ but none of his contributions made the cut, leading him to label the LP "very middle of the road" prompting Adele to publicly state she wished she had never agreed to work with him.
However, Damon says their feud is no longer relevant.
He told The Sun newspaper: "It’s not really important. None of that matters."
Meanwhile, asked when fans can expect Gorillaz’ first album in five years, Damon said: "Soon. Of course, we’ll be touring and doing festivals. I have spent the summer in the Atacama Desert in Chile, recording in Jamaica then down in Devon."
Revealing his and Adele’s studio sessions Damon previously said: "Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her. And I’m not a producer, so … I don’t know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don’t think so. Let’s wait and see. The thing is, she’s very insecure. And she doesn’t need to be, she’s still so young."
The 27-year-old pop superstar responded to his comments and said: "It ended up being one of those ‘don’t meet your idol’ moments. And the saddest thing was that I was such a big Blur fan growing up. But it was sad, and I regret hanging out with him."
Explaining why his material didn’t make the final tracklisting of ’25’, Adele – who has a son Angelo with her partner Simon Konecki – explained: "None of it suited my record. He said I was insecure, when I’m the least insecure person I know.
"I was asking his opinion about my fears, about coming back with a child involved – because he has a child – and then he calls me insecure!"
It was recently revealed that De La Soul have worked on a song for the record along with Snoop Dogg.
