Gordon Ramsay lands six-part cooking adventure series

Gordon Ramsay has landed a six-part cooking adventure series with National Geographic.
The 52-year-old chef – who has fronted a number of programmes on ITV and Channel 4 over the years – is set to embark on a fresh challenge around the globe in his upcoming show ‘Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted’, where he will meet with indigenous people to learn about different cultures, dishes and flavours unique to each location.
And the much-anticipated series, which airs later this year, will see Ramsay "ditch the chef whites" and "get hands on" to "harvest native ingredients".
In statement, he said: "It has been an amazing journey travelling off the beaten path with National Geographic and connecting with locals to learn and share incredible stories of unique traditions, delicacies and the extreme lengths it takes to harvest native ingredients.
"I have learned way more filming this series than I have in the last 10 years. I’m on an epic adventure travelling to the ends of the earth. Ditching the chef whites and getting hands on. I’m on the search of culinary inspiration – this is uncharted territory for me. "
The ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ star will be travelling to Peru, Laos and Morocco, Hawaii, Alaska and New Zealand, all while challenging himself with a local food legend by his side and putting his newfound skills to the test as they cook a feast together for the locals.
The upcoming series, which will also air globally in 172 countries and 43 languages, has been produced by Studio Ramsay, and additional episodes of the series have already been ordered ahead of the premiere, with production set to resume later this year.
‘Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted’ premieres September on National Geographic.
