Good Morning Britain interrupted by light smash

Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid was left shaken this morning (21.11.17) when a cameraman accidentally smashed a light live on air.
The 46-year-old presenter looked visibly scared when a loud crash was heard from behind the scenes while weatherman Alex Beresford was giving the daily weather report on the ITV breakfast show at 8.03am today.
Susanna exclaimed: "Oh my days!"
A shocked Alex – who has signed up to the new series of ‘Dancing on Ice’ – attempted to continue his report before reassuring viewers: "No one was hurt!"
The camera then panned to a smashed glass lamp-shade with a lit bulb swinging from the ceiling and then cut to concerned looking presenters Susanna, Charlotte Hawkins and Piers Morgan.
Susanna added: "Apart from that light fitting! Oh dear, there’s a poor camera operator who’s looking a little bit sheepish. Don’t worry, it’ll all be fine."
Piers joked: "He knows he’s just lost his job, unfortunately. I liked him too, it’ll be a shame to lose him."
The show then cut to a commercial break before returning to the presenters who reassured viewers that the situation was being dealt with.
Piers said: "We’re just making sure everyone is alright over there. Nice work by the cameraman. They’re quite annoying lights, to be honest with you. Nobody is really quite sure why they’re there. They look like Christmas baubles. Well, they were like Christmas baubles. One of them has just been unceremoniously smashed!"
Susanna told viewers: "I have a feeling they will now be replaced with unbreakable plastic".
Piers added: "I think someone is going to be replaced too. It may not just be the bulb!"
Susanna, 46, later tweeted a picture of smashed glass all over the studio floor and wrote: "Oops."
