‘Good Evening Britain’ has been commissioned.
Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid will host a one-off live, late-night special of the weekday show ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Thursday June 28 at 9.15pm to discuss England’s World Cup match against Belgium, which takes place earlier that night, as well as showbiz news and current affairs chat.
Piers said: "You know you think you’ve had enough of me in the mornings? Good news Britain, you’re going to get a load of me in the evenings because we are having our first ever ‘Good Evening Britain’."
Susanna added: "We’ve made the big time."
The programme will focus on the aftermath of England’s crunch World Cup clash as well as the controversial, amusing and memorable moments of the night.
The presenting pair will also discuss the current affairs and showbiz stories of the day, and Piers cannot wait to have a lie in.
He said: "We are coming to primetime – we’re actually very excited about it. I won’t have to go to bed for that until about mid-afternoon, it’s going to be great."
The live show will air for one-hour and Emma Gormley, managing director of ITV Studios Daytime, has teased fans they can expect a "lively 60 minutes".
She said: "We are excited to introduce one of our flagship shows to the evening schedule.
"It promises to be a lively 60 minute event, filled with all of the ingredients that make ‘GMB’ so unmissable."
‘GEB’ will air immediately after England have taken on Belgium in their final Group G game at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
