Gok Wan: I could present the whole of ‘This Morning’

Gok Wan would happily take over "every single" segment on ‘This Morning’.
The 42-year-old fashion consultant and television presenter is currently the resident fashion expert on the ITV daytime programme, but has joked he wouldn’t mind taking over the reins from show hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the Attitude Pride Awards in London’s Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park on Friday (07.07.17), he teased: "I’ll talk to the editors see if they are up for it, maybe I’ll just do every single item on the show, but it might exhaust me slightly."
In reality, however, the ‘How To Look Good Naked’ presenter doesn’t believe he could ever replace chef Phil Vickery – who has appeared on the show since 2006 – despite having cooked on the programme several times.
He added when asked if he’d take up a regular cooking spot: "I’ve cooked on the shows many times but Phil Vickery might have something to say about that if I kick him off so maybe not?"
And Gok – who was joined by the likes of TV judge Robert Rinder, presenter Davina McCall, ‘Coronation Street’ star Helen Worth, and BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw at the event – also thinks he "could never" replace showbiz expert Rylan Clark-Neal, as he is "way too good" at his job.
When asked if he could front the section entitled ‘Ryland’, the fashionista said: "I could never take over from him, he is way too good at what he does, there is not a chance in the world!"
Overall, Gok is happy in his position as fashion expert, and thinks working with the ‘This Morning’ team is "amazing".
He said of the show: "Oh my god, I love that team and Holly and Phil are amazing, they’re just as amazing as they seem, it’s loads of fun it’s a great family show, it covers all areas and I love doing the fashion on it, it’s great."
