Gloria Hunniford turned down ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ this year after holding talks with the producers.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist had discussions about taking part in the Australian jungle-based reality show, but ultimately she decided against it for numerous health reasons.
She said: "It was this year, I had meetings with the producer and the editor.
"In one way I wanted to challenge myself, but when they were really honest with me about what it was like I thought, ‘Well, I’m allergic to mosquitoes really badly, I’m a hospital case for that.’
"I could’ve done without the food, I think, and it would be helpful to do without the food."
While the 79-year-old TV presenter is confident she could’ve survived in the jungle on a diet of rice and beans, she wouldn’t have wanted to chow down on a pig’s brain in a Bushtucker Trial, nor had to do some of the more strenuous camp chores.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’, she added: "I don’t think I could do all the picking up of wood with my dodgy knee.
"I don’t think I could do the snake bit, and I certainly couldn’t eat a pigs’ brain."
While Gloria could’ve been throwing herself out of a plane on last night’s (17.11.19) series launch episode, ‘Hollyoaks’ actress Jennifer Metcalfe could’ve been too, as she was reportedly in talks for the show.
But she confirmed last month that she wasn’t taking part in the programme, because she wouldn’t want to be without her two-year-old son Daye for that long.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I’m not doing ‘I’m A Celebrity’.
"I couldn’t leave my boy for that long."
