Giovanni Pernice thinks Shirley Ballas should’ve worded her criticism of Faye Tozer’s dancing skills differently on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 28-year-old pro dancer has responded after the ‘Strictly’ head judge said she wanted to see a "change of dynamics" in the Steps singer’s dancing last weekend following the pair’s Jive routine.
Appearing on ‘Strictly’ spin-off ‘It Takes Two’ alongside Faye, Giovanni was asked if he "understood" why Shirley wanted their routines to be "more dynamic".
He replied: "I do understand English, so yes I understand what she said.
"The thing is, I accept what she said because she is a brilliant dancer and a brilliant teacher.
"She is a Latin Queen. So we just accept everything that she said.
"I think there are other ways to say the comments.
"But you know, we are going to fly to Blackpool next week. We are there. We’re gonna be there fighting for our place."
Despite Shirley’s criticism, Faye, 42 and Giovanni’s Jive on Saturday (10.11.18) received nine points from notoriously harsh judge Craig Revel Horwood and a 10 from Bruno Tonioli.
Following Giovanni’s comments, show host Zoe Ball swiftly moved on, saying: "But you are amazing, the two of you, you are phenomenal."
The ‘Strictly’ stars are heading up to Blackpool this weekend to perform at the seaside resort’s Tower Ballroom.
Giovanni – who is current rehearsing his upcoming dance routine with the ‘Tragedy’ hitmaker – added: "This is the most beautiful dance I have ever done on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’."
