Geri Horner to ‘celebrate LGBTQ people’ through children’s fiction

Geri Horner is set to "celebrate diversity and LGBTQ people" through an upcoming range of children’s fiction.

The 48-year-old pop star – who first found fame as part of the Spice Girls – has trademarked the term Rainbow Woman as the title for books, merchandise, a TV series and a film.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Rainbow Woman will build on the Spice Girls’ ‘girl power’ legacy but will also celebrate diversity and LGBTQ people, which she has long been a supporter of.

"Geri is all about love and acceptance so it’s important for that to be at the centre of everything she does.

"She recently filed legal documents to protect the name Rainbow Woman and has been hard at work on the project.

"The plan had been for the first book to be out later this year, in time for Christmas. Things have been thrown up in the air a bit due to lockdown but she has made great progress."

Meanwhile, Geri recently claimed that her favourite memory from her time with the Spice Girls involves eating a baked potato for lunch.

The singer achieved huge success as a member of the ‘Wannabe’ hitmakers in the 90s, but despite having toured the world and performed at the London Olympics in 2012, Geri’s favourite memories involve munching on jacket potatoes and baked beans.

Asked about her favourite memory during her time in the band, Geri explained: "It’s not quite an object but it is food. It’s a baked potato with beans on it.

"It was our go-to food. So when I think of sitting across the table with the girls it’s with a jacket potato and baked beans. As soon as I mentioned it, it brought back memories."
