Geri Horner has become a ‘tougher’ judge on All Together Now

Geri Horner has become a "tougher" judge for the upcoming season of ‘All Together Now.’
The Spice Girls star heads the panel on the BBC singing competition – which is returning on Saturday (02.03.19) for its second series – and she admitted she has been a lot harsher with her critiques because she wanted to be cruel to be kind to contestants this time round.
Geri told The Daily Star newspaper: "I decided to raise the bar. I didn’t get up as much when we were filming this series because I thought somebody needed to be the leveller, the reality check.
"This show is fun but it’s also got a prize of £50,000. That could change somebody’s life. So much as you want to root for everybody, this time I wanted to respect the premise of what this show is about.
"I was a little bit tougher this time. It’s like being a parent who says: ‘I care more about telling you the truth than I care about you loving me back.’ "
Geri, 46, admitted she has found it "challenging" to stick to her guns on this new attitude, and she does "feel for some" of the singers on the show.
She added: "To keep to that is quite challenging. But equally you do feel for some of them. There was a woman who completely blew it. I don’t know what happened. I swear it was so bad I got nervous and giggly. I was going: ‘Oh My God’. I felt so sorry for her."
The star also gushed that the show demonstrates how music can bring people together.
She said: "This show is about showing that people do actually get along. We’ve all got our s**t to deal with. But if a group of people are put together, they can find common ground."
