Geordie Shore banned from Blackpool

‘Geordie Shore’ has been banned from filming in Blackpool.

The cast of the reality TV show won’t be allowed to bring their wild antics to the UK seaside resort, with the local council decided to snub their request.

Councillor Graham Cain, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure, told the Blackpool Gazette: "On a daily basis we receive requests from production companies wishing to film in Blackpool.

"As a town that relies on tourism we have to be careful about allowing any programmes to film in the resort which may have a detrimental effect on the town’s
economy.

"We prefer to work with companies that appeal to our target market of families and do so on a regular basis. All requests are carefully considered but on this occasion we chose to refuse Lime Pictures’ application for permission."

It is said the cast member’s behaviour was considered "less than savoury" and "off message" for the popular seaside destination.

Show bosses were hoping to film a night out in Blackpool as part of the programme’s ninth series, but they will have to find another setting for the episodes.
