Gemma Oaten’s gran sent her a feather from beyond the grave on the day of her funeral.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star sadly lost her grandmother recently, just five years after her granddad passed away, but she took some "comfort" today (26.02.20) when she woke up to see a feather "looped and stuck" in front of her.
She wrote on Twitter: "God my heart. Making the 5 hour journey home to Hull from Cheltenham for grandmas funeral. But had some comfort this morning when I woke up to this. Look how the feather is looped and stuck. It wasn’t there last night.
@PSYCHICEMMA You told me she’d send me a feather (sic)"
Physic medium Emma Kinsey replied: "Oh Gemm… how beautiful is that Red heartSmiling face with halo my thoughts are with you today, she will never be far away love you lots xxxx (sic)"
Gemma remembered her grandfather last week, and admitted it had been a "rough couple of weeks" after her gran passed away, but she felt grateful for the "strength and love" of her family and friends.
She wrote on Instagram: "Miss you so much Grandad. 5 years ago today. Can’t believe we say goodbye to Grandma next week too. It’s been a rough couple of weeks that’s for sure @margoaten but forever grateful to the strength and love of my family and wonderful friends who have supported us above and beyond. And also to the most wonderful tour family on Ten Times Table who have helped me through more than they know. Plus all those who have helped us with our charity duties for SEED eating disorder support services. So grateful. And also to some wonderful members of the public who have come to see the show and sought me out after to offer condolences. Really has meant the world. Kindness costs nothing. The show must go on as they say#grandparents #angels #kindness (sic)"
And in September, Gemma paid tribute to her ‘Emmerdale’ character Rachel Breckle after her alter ego died off-screen on the ITV soap.
Viewers watched on as Rachel’s former brother-in-law Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) visited Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) to tell him that his former lover had died and that their son Archie – who Jai had not seen for three years – would need to live with him now.
Gemma – who had two stints on the soap between 2011 and 2015 – took to Instagram to remember all the great times she had in the Dales, and to thank ‘Emmerdale’ bosses for giving her the life-changing opportunity, admitting the role had been "life-changing".
