Gemma Collins refuses to get in lifts because of her claustrophobia.
The 39-year-old reality star became an internet meme when she screamed "I’m claustrophobic, Darren" on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2016, but her fear of small spaces means she won’t go in elevators unless they are made of glass, because she hates feeling enclosed.
Speaking on ‘The Gemma Collins Podcast’, she explained: "I have some fears and one of them is getting into a lift.
"I will not get into any lift that is enclosed. Unless it’s a glass lift you’re not going to get me in it."
The GC has refused to sit in a meeting if she has to take an elevator, and instead asks people to come down to her.
She said: "There have been occasions where I’ve turned up for meetings and there is an enclosed lift and I’ve had to ask the people to come down and have the meeting in reception. I don’t know where this comes from, I need to do a past-life regression."
Gemma has pushed herself to face her fears before, but her "survival mode" kicks in and she believes she has actually "left her own body".
She added: "It’s fight or flight, our bodies can go into survival mode. There have been instances, which is gonna sound weird, where I’ve actually left my own body.
"If you’re in a situation where you know something’s not right, your body has this amazing way of kind of … you literally can jump out of your own body."
What’s more, the former ‘TOWIE’ star has been named "the most iconic cast member".
Gemma later compared her new title to receiving an Oscar in a video from a yacht.
She said: "Darlings! It’s me, the GC, on my yacht! You know, this is like an Oscar. I just got the ‘most iconic award’.
Thank you. Because if it wasn’t for everyone believing in me, I wouldn’t be here today. But to be fair guys, we all knew I was an icon."
