Gemma Collins wants an OBE from the Queen for entertaining the nation in lockdown.
The 39-year-old TV star has continued filming her own show from home throughout the global health crisis, and after seeing Captain Tom Moore be recommended for a knighthood for his charitable efforts, Gemma felt it was only right she received a similar honour.
In her season finale of ‘Diva on Lockdown’, she said: "The thing is I’ve been doing my bit for the nation. I wonder if in years to come I’ll be getting an OBE."
Gemma later asked her assistant to find out the process to get an OBE award, saying she’d appreciate some kind of recognition for her work.
She added: "I think at some point I need an OBE from the Queen as I’ve entertained the nation during corona.
"If you could sort something out, write into HRH and stick me up for that at some point I’d be very appreciative. Make it happen, hun."
Meanwhile, the TV star is finding it difficult to be separated from her parents due to the Covid-19 pandemic and recently burst into tears after a phone call with her mum Joan, 65.
In scenes filmed in April, Gemma said: "Oh, I miss my mum! What is she doing? I won’t see her over Easter. I know that she’s missing us and it’s the same for a lot of people…
"It’s just so weird with everything that’s going on. A another further 831 people have died, too early to lift the COVID lockdown and I just hope that people this weekend…
"It’s just upset me seeing my mum, because I know she’s in the garden and she could have been with us out there."
