Gemma Atkinson ‘nearly cried’ after Strictly training

Gemma Atkinson "nearly cried" after her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ training session yesterday (19.09.17).
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actress has been working really hard with her professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec over the past two weeks to perfect their cha-cha-cha – the first dance they’ll perform together in front of the nation – ready for this weekend’s show, but she has admitted she’s struggling to master the steps and almost burst into tears when she left the studio last night because she’s so frustrated.
Speaking on the Key 103 Breakfast Show with co-hosts, Matt Haslam and Mike Toolan, on Wednesday (20.09.17), she said: "I nearly cried on the way home.
"I thought I’d got the dance nailed and I tried to do the steps and I kept doing them wrong. I hate letting people down, and I could see know knackered Aljaz was. I knew what to do in my head but I couldn’t do it with my feet, to the stage I just sat on the floor and went I can’t do this!"
And the 32-year-old star’s confidence took another knock when she asked her sister Nina if she wanted to come down to London to watch the live show in three weeks’ time and she politely declined.
She explained: "Tickets for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ are like gold dust, we get two per show. I thought being polite I’d offer it to family first, people take their agents but I want my family to experience this.
"So I said to our kid when I was there, I’ve got two tickets to the show on week three if I’m still in do you want me to get you booked in? She said: ‘It’s not filmed in Media City is it, it’s filmed down South? It’s a bit far- do you mind if I just watch it at home?’ "
