Gary Barlow is set to host a new talent show.
The Take That singer will use his experience from being in the group as he goes on the hunt for performers with "charisma, showmanship and stage presence" to be cast in a new musical for his programme titled ‘Let It Shine’
The 45-year-old hunk said: "With ‘Let It Shine’ we’re looking for people from all walks of life to form another unique group."
‘Let It Shine’ aims to recreate the magic Take That had when it was originally comprised of Gary, Robbie Williams, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange.
He explained: "Back in 1989 we were just a group of normal guys from Manchester who came together to become Take That. The secret to our success was that each of us brought something different to the group and that the five of us had real chemistry."
The new show, which will run for eight weeks and feature three guest mentors on each episode, will be a major rival of ‘The X Factor’, which Gary was a judge on from 2011 to 2013, and news that the singer will directly compete with big boss Simon Cowell isn’t expected to go down too well.
A source revealed: "If it is a success he could make hundreds of millions of pounds around the world like Cowell has with ‘X Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
"Cowell is going to be furious because he thinks it was ‘X Factor’ that gave Gary the experience working on a show like this. Now he’s gone and set up a direct rival.
"He’s always been paranoid about Gary trying to set up a huge entertainment company incorporating music and TV."
