Gary Barlow is working on new talent show

Gary Barlow is reportedly working on a new talent show.
The Take That frontman hasn’t been seen on screens since his series ‘Let It Shine’ wrapped up last year but, although the singing competition hasn’t been recommissioned for 2018, bosses at the BBC have asked the hunk to come up with a new format that will rival Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The BBC see Gary as their weapon to really dent the shows Simon Cowell producers.
"During and after ‘Let it Shine’ they were constantly asking if has any other new concepts which could work. The show ideas they are floating will see Gary working with new talent and imparting his extensive knowledge of the showbiz industry."
Although the BBC decided not to bring back ‘Let It Shine’, which saw five young lads – Nick Carsberg, A.J Bentley, Curtis T. Johns, Yazdan Qafouri and Sario Watanabe -Solomon – form a new boyband called Five to Five, they have admitted that the "door is always open" for another run in the future.
A source said at the time: "The show was a huge success in many ways but the concept for a second series just wasn’t quite there yet. The first series was a project that had been worked on for years before coming to fruition."
‘Let It Shine’ raked in 6.8million viewers on launch night but the numbers dwindled and Gary’s former bandmate Robbie Williams even pulled out of his guest judge spot.
However, Gary hasn’t given up on his passion project and is keen for it to return.
The insider said at the time: "Gary in particular wants to make sure that if it does come back, proper time, effort and ideas have gone into it. There’s a danger of undoing the good work done this year by rushing into another series.
"No one wanted that so they’ve decided to leave it for now."
