Garry Shandling’s friends remember him with basketball

Garry Shandling’s famous friends celebrated his life with a game of basketball.
The comedian and actor tragically passed away at the age of 66 on Thursday (24.03.16) from a supposed heart attack and pals including Judd Apatow, Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Silverman, Kathy Griffin, Bill Maher, Jeffery Tambor, Kevin Nealon, Breckin Meyer and Jesse Bradford gathered at his Los Angeles home to honour him yesterday (27.03.16).
Posting a group picture on Instagram, Judd wrote: "One last game of basketball at Garry’s house to say goodbye."
The ‘Larry Sanders Show’ star was a huge fan of the sport and often invited his friends over for a game.
And Sarah chose to remember his love of basketball in an Instagram tribute.
Posting a photo on Instagram of herself and Garry playing a game, she wrote: "We lost our most brilliant comic mind & I lost the most generous loving mentor & friend. Who will I guard? (sic)"
And as well as the basketball game, several of the star’s friends, including Sarah, Ryan, Jesse, and Breckin, celebrated Garry’s life at Craig’s restaurant in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Sharing a group picture, ‘Bring It On’ star Jesse wrote: "A bunch of fans of Garry Shandling who were lucky enough to become friends of Garry Shandling.
"RIP brother, I don’t think you even realize how much you will be missed."
And posting the same picture, Ryan wrote: "For the love of G (Garry’s family sending him off, we loved him so) (sic)"
