Gabrielle Aplin has been using healing crystals to get her ready to face the music industry again.
The ‘Please Don’t Say You Love Me’ singer is gearing up to release her new EP ‘Miss You’ – her first release since 2015’s ‘Light Up the Dark’ LP – and in a bid to free her mind and deal with the pressures that come with being a pop star she’s taken up "spiritual practices".
She said: "I’ve been involved in spiritual practices and trying to make myself a happy person. I set half an hour aside each day for my brain.
"I started meditating, learning about healing crystals, essential oils, ancient ley lines, Glastonbury, the Celts, Pagans. It could be b*******, but I really believe in it."
The 24-year-old beauty, who shot to fame with her cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s ‘The Power of Love’ in 2012, has opened up about her battle with her mental health and how "hard" she found it not having a structure to her busy schedule.
She told the Metro newspaper: "Creative industries are full of loads of highs but also loads of lows.I really like routine and it’s hard …
"one day you’ll be on tour, doing a day of promo, doing a show, coming off stage, meeting a hundred people, then you’ve got two weeks of nothing – that really affected me mentally.
"It’s very difficult to complain when you’re in such a privileged position and I don’t ever want to seem negative, but at the same time, it’s hard."
Gabrielle’s EP ‘Miss You’ is out on December 16.
