Gabrielle has revealed that one of her dreams is to perform at Glastonbury.
The 54-year-old singer is yet to step on stage at Michael and Emily Eavis’ world-famous festival – which is held on Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England – but before she calls time on her career she wants to sing her greatest hits in the Sunday afternoon legends slot.
Speaking to exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: “Glastonbury is something that I watch on TV, but something I’ve never done.
“That Glastonbury slot is the one I want, that’s probably my lifetime ambition to do that set.
“I can’t imagine them ever asking me, I’ll probably never do it but who knows?”
Gabrielle may not be playing Glastonbury in 2024 but she is heading out on tour this summer for a string of live dates, including a slot supporting Sir Tom Jones at Plymouth Summer Sessions on Plymouth Hoe on Thursday (13.04.24).
The ‘Out of Reach’ hitmaker is heading out on an arena tour in 2025 with former Lighthouse Family singer Tunde Baiyewu, and she admits she can’t quite believe that she still has loyal fans who have supported her since the release of her chart-topping debut single ‘Dreams’ in June 1993.
She said: “Just the fact that three decades later I’m still here, I would never have imagined it. I came out with an eye patch and people were thinking ‘one hit wonder’ but I’m still here and I’m doing arenas. I never imagined doing an arena tour, but it’s happening.”
TK Maxx presents Plymouth Summer Sessions kicks off this Thursday (13.06.24) on Plymouth Hoe with Sir Tom Jones, Bryan Adams, Madness, and Sting headlining across the weekend.
