‘Love Island’ contestant Gabby Allen is paying tribute to her late father whilst on the show.
The 25-year-old fitness instructor tragically lost her father four years ago when he passed away from brain cancer, and the blonde beauty is believed to paying a sweet tribute to her "best friend" whilst in the infamous villa, as she’s been wearing a pair of his sunglasses.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Gabby’s dad passed from brain cancer 4 four years ago when she was at college. It was an extremely quick diagnosis, the family had very little notice.
"Her dad was her best friend, she has an incredible family, her mother and brother and Gabby have supported each other immensely the past few years.
"We’re aware the sunglasses Gabby wears on the show were her father’s and they’re her good luck charm. It’s a heartbreaking story and shows why Gabby got so emotional speaking to her mum the other night, they’re best friends."
During her time on the ITV2 reality series, Gabby has struck up a relationship with former Blazin’ Squad member Marcel Somerville, but that could all change when the couples are forced to spend time apart as the boys and girl are sent to different villas.
Tensions are set to heighten further when 11 new contestants descend on the two locations, with the new boys being sent to mingle with the girls, and the new girls aiming to romance with the boys.
A source said: "They’re going to split all the boys and girls up so they’ll be in separate accommodation.
"Even more newbies are going to be sent in this week to shake things up. It’s going to be the biggest thing to happen to the show."
It’s thought that the couples who have already formed will be split for at least two days, and producers hope the villas will be far enough away that anything can happen.
The source added: "The secret location is going to be used for two or three days and new girls will be sent into the boys’ house to test them, and new boys will go into the girls’ house. It’s to test the loyalty of current relationships and it’s going to be explosive.
"Because of the villa’s remote location, the second house will be in the same town but is far enough away that both groups can get up to whatever they want."
