Gabby Allen has played down speculation she and Marcel Somerville’s relationship has hit the buffers – insisting they are "absolutely fine".
The ‘Love Island’ couple – who have been together for nine months after meeting on the ITV2 dating series last year – have been the subject of break-up rumours in recent weeks, but the 26-year-old beauty is adamant she "trusts" the Blazin’ Squad star completely and they are trying to "ignore" speculation surrounding their relationship.
Gabby told the MailOnline: "I was baffled at where it had come from, Marcel obviously had texted me and said: ‘Who have you been talking to, mate?’ and I said, ‘What are you talking about?’
"Obviously people want a story and everyone wants us to fail but we’re absolutely fine. We’re quite good, we try to ignore all the input from the outside world.
"We’re in a relationship together, not with anyone else. You have to take it with a pinch of salt.
"We trust each other, I trust him and I hope he trusts me too. We’ve never had any problems in that respect, I’ve never not trusted him in any way."
Marcel admitted in February he wants to slow down their relationship because they were living in each other’s pockets in the ‘Love Island’ villa.
He said told BANG Showbiz: "Me and Gabs see ourselves getting married in the future but when you get together in the villa it’s so intense where you’re literally living with that person 24/7.
"You share a bed straight away on your first date but we’ve made a conscious effort to slow it down – not slow it down too much because we want to keep the passion."
But Marcel said at the time he was already thinking up ways he can pop the question to Gabby.
He explained: "I know that I want to pop the question at some point but I don’t want to rush into it because I don’t want to take away from building the relationship. I might take moments from the villa that meant something to us and maybe use them for parts of the proposal – I could be wearing the same clothes I wore on a certain date."
