French Montana’s mansion gets burgled

French Montana’s mansion has been burgled.
The 33-year-old rapper was in for a shock on Tuesday (31.07.18) when two armed male suspects managed to force their way into his lavish home in Calabasas, California, at around 8 in the morning and make off with some of his possessions.
The Calabasas Sheriff Department confirmed to People.com that police were distributed as soon as they received the call about the robbery but, upon arrival at the property, the criminals had already managed to flee the scene.
There were at least two residents at the address when the crime took place but officers refused to confirm whether any of them were the ‘Unforgettable’ hitmaker.
It’s not known how much was stolen – or what was taken – but no one was injured during the burglary as the paramedics and fire brigade were not called.
This isn’t the first time the mansion has been targeted as a man was arrested in 2014 when he broke into the guest home and was found rummaging through possessions.
However, French didn’t live at the property when that incident took place as it was still owned by Selena Gomez then and he went on to buy it from her in April 2016.
Meanwhile, French – whose real name is Karim Kharbouch – became an official US citizen two months ago – a year after he first applied for naturalisation.
Taking to his Instagram account at the time, French uploaded a video of him holding his right hand up and singing his own rendition of the US National Anthem.
He captioned the clip: "Officially a citizen today. Thank you Allah."
French was born in Morocco and immigrated to the United States when he was 13 with his family. He spent most of his later childhood living in Bronx, New York, but found himself travelling between states the more his rap career excelled.
Although he’s clearly over the moon that he’s now an official US citizen, French has always made it his mission to stay true to his roots through his charity work.
He travelled to Uganda back in 2017 to film his ‘Unforgettable’ video and admitted the sights he saw there really opened his eyes to the extreme poverty abroad.
He said: "My life changed forever after my trip to Uganda. And I am excited to continue engaging my fans to use their voices to advocate for universal health coverage and education for those living in extreme poverty."
