Freddie Flintoff: A League of Their Own will ‘go from strength to strength’

Freddie Flintoff thinks ‘A League of Their Own’ will "go from strength to strength" after its 10th anniversary.
The hilarious sports game show – which has been hosted by James Corden since its launch in 2010 – will mark a decade on air next year, and the team captain has opened on how the programme has coped after Jack Whitehall was replaced by fellow comedian Romesh Ranganathan.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "Everyone was worried about Jack leaving us, but Romesh joining takes the show to the next level.
"Romesh is hilarious and has brought all his life experience to the show and this will see it go from strength to strength."
Freddie, 41, added that he and opposing team captain Jamie Redknapp, 45, are still having a great time working on the show because it feels like they’re getting paid to joke around with their friends.
He explained: "Jamie Redknapp and I love doing the show – we just laugh all the time. It’s basically hanging out with your mates. What more could you ask for?"
Meanwhile, the former cricketer has already started filming for his first series hosting ‘Top Gear’ alongside Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness, and he joked that the ‘Take Me Out’ host may have replaced Jamie as his "TV wife".
He said: "Jamie Redknapp and I are a bit of a duo, he was my telly wife for 13 years but now it’s Paddy.
"Paddy is only from Bolton, which is less than 15 minutes away from me. We have mutual friends and have done Soccer Aid together so it’s been really nice getting to know him."
