Fred Sirieix trying to discover KFC recipe in Snackmasters

Fred Sirieix will try to find out the secret KFC recipe in the second series of ‘Snackmasters’.

The ‘First Dates’ star will challenge top chefs to discover how the popular fast food treat is made in the upcoming run of the Channel 4 show.

An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "Only two people in the world know the combination of 11 herbs and spices that makes KFC so addictive.

"It’s such a fiercely guarded secret that the original recipe is locked away in a vault at the company’s Kentucky HQ.

"Replicating the taste is going to be the toughest challenge that Fred and his team of culinary experts have faced."

Chefs will also attempt to recreate Domino’s pizza, Snickers, Quavers and Quality Street chocolates in the upcoming episodes.

The first series of ‘Snackmasters’ earned a BAFTA nomination for Best Feature and featured attempts to make KitKat, Monster Munch and Burger King replicas.

Fred recently admitted that he has been forced to delay his wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 48-year-old TV star had been planning to tie the knot in Jamaica with his fiancée – who he affectionately calls ‘Fruitcake’ – but they have decided to delay the ceremony until 2022 so friends and family can attend.

He explained: "We’re waiting to see when we can travel because it’s important for all of our friends and family [to be there].

"We have to be patient and see what is going to happen – it is out of our control. But we are planning for early 2022 now. It’s going to be great. I can’t wait. It’s just going to be very exciting."
