Frankie Bridge can’t bear to watch her husband Wayne Bridge cry on television.
The retired football player has found it hard to control his emotions while competing in the current series of ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ and the Saturdays singer has admitted it’s "horrible" seeing tears roll down his cheeks on screen.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ via video link from Australia on Thursday (01.12.16), she said: "It’s been really weird, it’s something that is completely out of Wayne’s comfort zone, so that in itself is weird to watch him on TV.
"And then to see him crying is just horrible, I did have a good cry and I think loads of us did, but now he just seems like he is really enjoying himself and he seems to really coming in to his own, so that’s made me kind of relax a bit."
And, although the 27-year-old singer has supported Wayne’s every move in the jungle so far, Frankie was left red faced recently when Wayne divulged details about their sex life, which was later aired to the nation during an episode last week.
She said when pressed on how she felt about the revelation: "I was just willing for him to be quiet, I was sitting with my mum and was like please just stop"
Frankie – who encouraged the hunk to take part in the programme – is hoping the 36-year-old sportsman’s appearance on the creepy-crawly show will change people’s perception of him as some people believed he was a "horrible" footballer.
She explained: "I think it’s weird that they’d think I’d kind of marry a horrible footballer, but I get it, they do have a bad rep so I did kind of say to him when he was doing the show, literally everybody that meets him loves him, there’s only one way it would go and it’s not going to go bad for him, he wanted to do it for experience so it’s quite nice for me to be like look I love him and now everybody else loves him."
