Frank Turner announces massive gig to celebrate 3,000 shows

Frank Turner will play his 3,000th gig at London’s Alexandra Palace.

The ‘I Still Believe’ singer songwriter and his band The Sleeping Souls – who topped the UK album charts in 2022 with his most recent LP ‘FTHC’ – are set to play a special show at the iconic venue to mark the incredible milestone since embarking on a solo career almost two decades ago.

He announced the one off gig on Monday (29.04.24) and said: “Holy cow. It’s actually happening.”

Show 3,000 will be held on February 22, 2025 at Ally Pally, which has a potential capacity of over 10,000 punters.

Pre-sale access can be gained by pre-ordering Frank’s upcoming new album ‘Undefeated’ – which drops on Friday (03.05.24) – while those who have already pre-ordered the record in any format will automatically get access.

Of his 10th record, he recently said: “19 years into my solo career, I’m still standing up and putting out some of my best work. It feels good.”

Frank’s 3,000th gig comes just eight years after he celebrated 2,000 shows at Nottingham’s Rock City, which he later live streamed for free during the pandemic.

This weekend, the folk punk musician will mark his new album release with an attempt to break the world record for most shows played in 24 hours.

Kicking off on Saturday (04.05.24), Frank is set to play 15 gigs – each at least 20 minutes – within 24 hours as part of a campaign for Music Venue Trust.

He recently said: “We’re working with 13 independent record shops and 15 independent grassroots music venues for the shows, highlighting two bits of the infrastructure of the underground that I care about most.

“It’s going to be tough, but hopefully fun too. Come down for a show!”

Starting at Liverpool’s Jacaranda at 12:30pm, Frank will play shows in Huddersfield, Leeds, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Nottingham and Birmingham before a midnight gig in Leamington Spa.

From there, he’ll move onto Leighton Buzzard, London, Kingston, Aldershot, Portsmouth, Winchester and Southampton.
