Fleur East to launch podcast discussing reality tv

Fleur East is launching her own podcast called ‘The Reality of Reality TV’.

The 32-year-old singer and radio host – who rose to fame on ‘The X Factor’ in 2005 – will speak to other reality stars to uncover the truth behind the nation’s favourite shows by discussing their best, worst and most real moments on the small screen.

Fleur said: "I did ‘The X Factor’ twice, ‘I’m A Celeb’ once and have always been a huge fan of reality TV shows.

"I always get asked how much of my experiences were real. Even my family, who watch behind the scenes the whole way through still ask did that really happen.

"So, what is real? In this podcast I’ve loved swapping notes with other reality TV veterans in a bid to uncover the reality of reality TV."

The ‘Hits Radio Breakfast Show’ presenter will talk with various reality stars to answer some of their fans most-asked questions to find out how real each programme actually is and what happened after their 15 minutes of fame.

Some of her guests include ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ winner The Vivienne, TOWIE’s Vas J Morgan, ‘Geordie Shore’ alumni Vicky Pattison, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ champion Harry Redknapp and fellow ‘X Factor’ stars Janet Devlin and JLS member JB Gill.

The candid conversations come weeks after Fleur revealed she was told to straighten her natural hair or risk her pop career before appearing on ‘The X Factor’.

She said: "When I went into ‘The X Factor’, one thing that I really didn’t want to compromise on was my hair. That, to me, is a representation of me, my colour and my culture, and I believe that should be celebrated.

"When I went into the jungle a lot of people asked if I was going to braid my hair down, saying I couldn’t have my Afro out in the jungle. But I wanted to have it out and wear it proudly.

"I was in a group before ‘X Factor’ and I was told to straighten my hair, that I wouldn’t be able to sell if I had my natural hair."
