Fleur East: ‘Louis Tomlinson wanted X Factor job for years’

Fleur East thinks Louis Tomlinson has been eyeing up a judging slot on ‘The X Factor’ for the last two years.

The One Direction singer, who won the show with his band in 2010, is rumoured to be joining the panel alongside Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell later this year but the ‘Sax’ hitmaker is convinced he’s wanted that gig for a while.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz on the red carpet at WE Day UK, held in London, today (09.03.16), Fleur – who won the eleventh series of the singing competition in 2014 – said: "He was actually in a lot of my tech rehearsals with Simon when I was on the show, so I think even from then he was seeing how it all worked. He was always saying, ‘You’re amazing, you’re doing a great job, just enjoy it, have fun, don’t stress too much,’ and that really good advice."

And, although his place on the tough-talking panel is yet to be confirmed ahead of the next series in September, the curly-haired beauty is convinced Louis, 23, is the perfect person as wannabes will take his advice on board and look up to him.

She explained: "Who better than someone who has actually been through the same experience, than him? I know so many contestants can’t wait to hear his advice. I would have loved to have heard his advice before I went on the show."
