Fleur East felt "hurt" when she couldn’t find out what was happening in ‘The X Factor’ during her time on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 31-year-old singer shot to fame as a contestant on the show in 2005, and she is still such a huge fan of the programme that she was devastated when she wasn’t able to keep track of who was doing well in last year’s series while she was in the Australian jungle.
She told TV podcast Series Linked: "I always follow these shows, because, I mean, ‘X Factor’, I was a huge fan of, obviously, before I even auditioned, so I feel obliged to watch it every year.
"I feel like I’m missing out, like it hurt me when I was in the jungle and I didn’t know who’d won or what was going on."
Fleur is also a big supporter of fellow ITV singing show ‘The Voice’, so much so she gets sweaty palms on behalf of the contestants while she is watching the wannabes do their thing.
She added: "I’ve watched ‘The Voice’ since the start. I love the concept of ‘The Voice’. So, yeah, I’m always involved, always watching.
"It’s like sweaty palms watching it, every time. I get so nervous for the people, and I cry when they get through and I get really emotionally invested in it.
"It’s almost like it’s bittersweet when you’re in these competitions, because each stage you get so excited, but then, oh, back to square one again, then you’re going through another round, so it’s like an emotional rollercoaster the whole time, and I can’t help but watch it.
"When I see people get through the first round I’m like, ‘Yeah, that’s great, but keep your feet on the ground, because you’ve got four more rounds to get through.’ "
As a result of her ‘X Factor’ and ‘The Voice’ love, the ‘Sax’ hitmaker would love to be a judge or a coach on one of the shows, and believes she has plenty to offer wannabe singers.
She added: "I would like to be a judge. I think I’d really love doing that. I think, typically, I’ve always watched these shows and thought I’m not ready to be a judge, because I don’t feel like I’ve done enough in my career.
"But at the same time I’ve been through that, that format, so I’ve been through a contest and I’ve been grinding in the industry.
"I’ve been trying to make it, so I feel like I have a lot of advice that I can share with budding singers. So you never know."
