First Dates’ Fred Sirieix fractured Austin Ventour’s ribs

Fred Sirieix once fractured ‘First Dates’ waiter Austin Ventour’s ribs when the pair faced off in a boxing match.
The TV waiter has opened up about how the 47-year-old Maître d’ injured him when they were taking each other on during a sparring session at the gym.
Austin exclusively told BANG showbiz: "He’s got a really filthy left hook! He fractured my ribs when we had a fight in the ring.
"Me and Fred have done a lot of sparring in the boxing gym, I think we’ve had like three fights. The first punch of the fight, he fractured my rib.
"Fred’s not able to fight at the moment but me and him we love boxing and I love boxing so anytime we can we train together.
"He’s won by far every single time! He is so fit and strong, it is unbelievable."
The hunk revealed that the pair – who appear on the popular Channel 4 show, which documents couples as they dine on a first date – have been sparring together for about a year, and Fred has been boxing for 15 years.
Austin said they decided to take on each other after they were joking around during filming, and then got serious about sparring.
He said: "We were filming and just being lads. And I said like, ‘Yeah, I’ll knock you out!’ And he was like, ‘Well, let’s fight then!’
"And I didn’t know what he meant. And he was like, ‘Yeah, a spar.’
"So I did a little bit of training and ever since the first spar I just loved it so I’ve kind of taken it up as a hobby. So yeah, that’s basically it!
"We’ve only had three spars since the first one. So not very often. There will be another one soon in a few months, I hope.
"He’s so nice, he could easily hurt me but he holds back and just likes to practice himself. It is competitive, but he is such a gentleman but he holds back on me because he knows he’s better."
