Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui was ignorant about the impact of fame

Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui entered into the world of show business "without knowing what [she] was doing".
The 21-year-old singer stars in the chart-topping girl group alongside Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and previously Camila Cabello, after the band was formed on ‘The X Factor’ in 2012, but Lauren now admits she wasn’t aware what she was letting herself in for.
The brunette beauty shared: "I gave my life to this without knowing what I was doing. I was very little when I started in 5H, I was 16.
"I think that until we’re 21, human beings don’t get to know themselves very much. But I also believe that everything happens for a reason, and that God knows what he’s doing.
"I had to learn everything, in front of many people. That way I learned a lot about myself and the people that surround me. And when I mean everything, I mean from learning how to talk and communicate to learning everything that means to be an artist."
Despite this, the outspoken singer has insisted she doesn’t harbour any regrets about her career choice, saying she is living her long-held dream.
She told Billboard: "I’m sure that I’ll never regret the road I’ve taken. I never question that because I love what I do; it’s given me everything that I have in this life.
"Doing something that is your passion, in my case related to music and art, being a performer playing shows around the world, that is a dream come true."
Meanwhile, Lauren – who is fiercely proud of her Cuban roots – has admitted she would love to honour her heritage by collaborating with the likes Shakira, Nicky Jam and J Balvin.
Asked if she’d like to collaborate with another artist in Spanish, Lauren replied: "Of course! I love South America. I’m Cuban, and every time I’m over there, I feel the genuine love. I’m moved by the way we’re treated. I was raised with Latin culture, and I love it.
"About that collaboration, I can’t say much, but, we’re working on it! Making music with Shakira, Nicky Jam or J Balvin would be amazing. If it were up to me, I’d do it with everyone!"
