Ferne McCann’s boyfriend Arthur Collins has been charged in connection with the acid attack that took place in a London nightclub last week.
The former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star’s 25-year-old beau was charged with 14 counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, as well as one count of pelting corrosive fluid with intent to do grievous bodily harm, after around 20 party-goers at east London’s hotspot Mangle on April 17 suffered burns from being doused with the harmful substance.
The 26-year-old reality star’s lover is set to appear at the Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday (24.04.17).
Arthur reportedly had to be tasered by police after a six-day manhunt because he failed to put his hands up when he was being arrested of attempted murder at a house in Rushden, Northamptonshire, on Saturday (22.04.17).
Footage of the arrest has been obtained by The Sun newspaper, which has detailed the incident.
In the video footage, one officer is heard saying: "Get your hands up … put them on the small of your back — now."
But when Arthur failed to respond, an officer reportedly ordered for him to be hit with 50,000 volts from a stun gun.
An officer said: "Guys are we clear? Taser, taser — hit him."
Arthur’s arrest came after another man, Andre Phoenix, 21, was charged with seven counts of grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, another man who was arrested on Friday (21.04.17) over the attack has since been released.
Ferne was not at the club with her boyfriend and has since removed him from her social media accounts, but did make a public appeal for him to meet with police.
A spokesperson for the ‘This Morning’ co-host – who is rumoured to be pregnant – said recently: "Ferne is aware that the police wish to speak to Arthur Collins and the nature of the accusations against him.
"Obviously these are highly shocking and Ferne has co-operated with the police in their inquiries. She was not with Arthur on Sunday night, was not at Mangle, and has no direct knowledge of the events that unfolded."
