Ferne McCann has reportedly been dating an older man for a month and a half.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star split from her ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins, with whom she has four-month-old daughter Sunday, after he was sentenced to two decades behind bars with an extra five years on licence in December for throwing acid on a group of revellers in a packed nightclub in London in April last year.
But, despite focusing on raising her daughter, Ferne has not given up the quest to find love and is the "happiest she’s been in ages" with her new mystery man.
A source told The Sun Online: "She’s had a terrible time of things so she’s being realistic – she’s keen to keep the romance out of the spotlight as he’s not a celebrity and it’s early days. But she’s the happiest she’s been in ages."
Although she has moved on in the love department, Ferne recently said she doesn’t think she’ll ever truly come to terms with what happened outside the nightclub.
She said at the time: "It’s been a really emotional time. It’s been horrendous and very difficult to come to terms with and I probably never will.
"I was in shock for a long time. The past six months have been hell but I’m not the victim in this and I’m certainly not looking for sympathy."
However, going through her pregnancy alone and raising her daughter on her own has made her realised how "strong" she is.
The 27-year-old beauty said: "I hadn’t realised how strong I could be.
"I have a much more positive outlook on life now. I used to get stressed about the smallest things but now I’ve seen how much I can cope with, the smaller stuff just doesn’t worry me anymore. I’m a lot calmer."
