‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ actress Felicity Jones loved learning kung fu for her role in the sci-fi film.
The 32-year-old actress is playing heroine Jyn Erso in the hotly anticipated spin-off movie and she had to do daily martial arts sessions to get ready for the physically demanding part.
However, Felicity loved every minute of the lessons because she wanted to test herself with an action role that was different to her previous dramatic parts.
In an interview with the new issue of Total Film magazine, ‘The Theory of Everything’ star said: "I’ve never done this level of physical preparation for something. Particularly for ‘Rogue One’ where I was training every day and doing kung fu rehearsals on a daily basis, but that’s part of the reason I wanted to do it, because it was very different from what I’ve done before."
This is not the first time Felicity has opened up on the fight scenes in the blockbuster and admitted she was left exhausted at the end of the day.
She previously said: "At the time it was physically exhausting. It took a lot of hours of practice and I learned to fight, even though I never thought beating up Stormtroopers was something I’d be doing in my job! It came through hard work and lots of practice and rehearsals."
Felicity stars in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ with Forest Whitaker, Riz Ahmed, Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn and Diego Luna and is set before the events of original 1977 ‘Star Wars’ film ‘Episode IV: A New Hope’.
The plot sees the Rebel Alliance recruit Erso to steal the Empire’s plans for the planet destroying space station the Death Star.
The movie will be released on December 16.
