Faye Tozer tops leaderboard on Strictly Come Dancing

Faye Tozer received nines across the board to top the leaderboard on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The Steps singer and her dancing partner Giovanni Pernice impressed with a quickstep to ‘Grease’s ‘You’re The One That I Want’, earning her Craig Revel-Horwood’s first nine of the series and her own first nine of the series.
Shirley Ballas called it "one of the best quicksteps I’ve ever seen on Strictly" whilst Bruno Tonioli made his excitement known as he moved from behind the judging table to dance with Faye as he serenaded her with the hit song.
Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev came a very close second place, with their salsa to ‘(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life’ from ‘Dirty Dancing’, even managing the impressive famous lift for a score of 35.
Shirley told them: "I think you did that number absolute justice today. You didn’t miss a step from the beginning. Your timing was outstanding. Congratulations Ashley, well done."
Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton jived to ‘Happy’ from ‘Despicable Me 2’, receiving a score of 32.
Bruno praised them: "You’ve taken all our comments from last week on board. You came back and you were on it!"
Craig welcomed Graeme Swann and Oti Mabuse "back to the competition" with their Charleston to ‘Spider Man’, with the pair bringing in 31 points out of a possible 40. Darcey Bussell called it a "super comeback".
At the other end of the leaderboard, Lee Ryan and Nadiya Bychkova – who found themselves in the bottom two last week – danced a cha cha cha to ‘The Power Of Love’ from ‘Back to the Future’ but Bruno gave them hope for the future.
He said: "It wasn’t a blockbuster but it wasn’t a flop either! You just need polishing and refining and working at it."
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Sunday (07.10.18).
