Faye Tozer released pent up emotions in Strictly Come Dancing routine

Faye Tozer’s paso doble on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ felt like "a release".
The Steps star wowed judges with her powerful routine during Saturday’s (17.11.18) episode of the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition – which was filmed live from the iconic Blackpool Tower ballroom – and has said she was so full of emotion from the build up of getting to the important stage of the competition that her "angry and feisty" dance was the "perfect routine".
She said: "It was just such an incredible night and Blackpool definitely feels bigger and better than being in the studio.
"It was just great to have the crowds, the extra dancers, the fire and the music. It was lovely.
"It was almost a bit of a release being able to go out there and be angry and a bit feisty. There was quite a lot of build up to Blackpool and it was the perfect routine for that."
The 43-year-old vocalist had her parents Dorothy and Angus watching in the audience as she took to the dance floor with partner Giovanni Pernice, and says they were "dead proud" of her work.
Speaking on BBC2’s ‘Strictly’ spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’, Faye said: "Mum and dad were really proud. I saw them just afterwards and they had a little tear in their eye. I think they were dead proud.
"They grew up with me. They know I’ve got that side to me. It doesn’t come out usually."
Faye always puts 100 percent into her routines, and her husband Michael Smith recently revealed she works so hard she looks like she’s been "attacked", as she comes home covered in bruises.
He said: "It looks like she’s been attacked – the bruises are ridiculous.
"Faye puts 100 per cent into it – she doesn’t do things by halves!"
