Faye Brookes would "love to go back" to ‘Coronation Street’.
The 33-year-old actress – who was confirmed for next year’s ‘Dancing on Ice’ earlier today (24.09.20) – has admitted she is keen to reprise her role as Kate Connor at some point, after the ITV soap’s bosses left the door open for a potential comeback.
When asked if she would consider heading back to Weatherfield, she said: "Maybe, maybe … I would love to go back. I’m still in contact with everybody.
"I honestly just loved my time there."
The star also admitted she thinks her former ‘Corrie’ co-stars will be "very shocked" to hear she has signed up for the ice-skating show.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she added: "I think they will all be very shocked by this news, which is a surprise."
Faye filmed her final cobbles scenes in July 2019, and her on-screen departure occurred in September last year as Kate flew to Singapore to begin a round-the-world trip.
Kate’s Weatherfield departure came just six months after her fiancée Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia) was killed on their wedding day, just moments after they exchanged their vows while she lay dying on the factory floor.
After shooting her last scenes, Faye admitted she was "so excited" for the next stage of her career.
She wrote: "Cannot put into words how I felt filming my last few episodes as Kate Connor @coronationstreet But all I can say is that there was a lot of love in the room that day…
"It’s always sad to say goodbye, But when a chapter ends another story begins & I’m so exited about what’s to come … Nevertheless I will miss playing that feisty Connor but I’ll cherish every second spent with my Corrie Family.
"The challenges I faced, the experiences I had, the lessons I learnt, the People I met, the laughs, the hugs & even the tears. All I have to say is Bring it On! See you all on the other side Thank you… Next (sic)"
