Fatboy Slim performs on world’s biggest holographic stage

Fatboy Slim had a “wild ride” as he performed on the world’s biggest holographic stage.

The 60-year-old DJ appeared high in the London sky at Alexandra Palace on Thursday (19.10.23) night when he was projected on to a 50m tall, 30m wide holo-gauze as he played some of his biggest hits, backed on ‘Praise You’ by a string of virtual backing dancers from across the country following a nationwide competition.

The visual spectacle, which was to mark a new era for EE, was as high as the leaning tower of Pisa and guests including Ashley Roberts, Ella Eyre, Max George, Maisie Smith, and Lucy Watson, defied the rain to dance on the terrace at the iconic venue, while the performance was also livestreamed to the nation.

Fatboy Slim said afterwards: “Last night was a wild ride! We took over London’s skyline and made history. A massive shout out to all those fans who joined me on the world’s biggest holographic stage to kickstart a brand-new era for EE.”

The event marked EE’s move from traditional telecommunications to become the UK’s largest subscription business, focusing on game, home, learn and work, with a string of products and services – underpinned by EE 5G and EE Full Fibre – being developed to improve customers’ everyday lives in those areas.

Christian Thrane, MD Marketing at EE said: “Last night we made history as New EE with the world’s largest holographic performance featuring one on the nation’s best loved DJs.

“New EE is committed to becoming the UK’s most personal, customer-focused technology brand so we are proud to have been able to give people up and down the country a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on the world’s biggest holographic stage with their musical hero, Fatboy Slim.”
