‘Emmerdale’s Danny Miller is petrified he’ll get axed this year.
The handsome actor – who is known for playing gentle giant Aaron Livesy in the long-running soap – has admitted he and his cast mates are worried new head producer Ian McLeod, who recently took the reigns from Kate Oates, will start laying off people and changing the running order too much on set.
Danny, 25, explained: "It’s a bit like football – when the new producer come in and have their own ideas of how they want to play and have their idea of who are the star players.
"Although your previous boss has said ‘You’re part of the plans’, the new boss could come in and say, ‘You’re not my kind of actor, you’re out of here.’
Everybody panics because you don’t know what they want to do and if you have had loads of storylines you fear they might not want to use you as such, and it’s always interesting to see what they bring to the show."
However, Danny – who rejoined the show in 2014 after two years out – thinks it’s a good thing that no one’s job is safe.
Speaking on the radio show talkSPORT ‘Extra Time’, he said: "But I think it’s healthy to worry about it. If you felt you were safe for the next 10 years it’s a false feeling and a dangerous feeling. You’re setting yourself up for a downfall."
