‘Emmerdale’s Chris Chittell and Lesley Dunlop have got married.
The soap stars – who plays busybody Eric Pollard and cafe worker Brenda Walker respectively in the show – tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in the coastal village of Coverack in Cornwall on Saturday afternoon (18.06.16).
Onlooker Nigel Gooding, from Wolverhampton told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We were out for dinner, and [my wife] Tric said ‘doesn’t she look like Brenda from ‘Emmerdale’?’ The next time we looked round, Eric Pollard was standing next to her!
"So I said, ‘Yes, I guess she looks exactly like Brenda from ‘Emmerdale’!’ I spoke to some of the locals, who said Lesley has links to the village – it sounded like she spent quite some time living there, and a few locals were guests at the wedding.
"We went to the local pub a lot while we were there, and Lesley and Chris came in every night – so we became regular faces to them, and we stayed on for the day to grab some shots of the wedding. I only recognised three cast members – Sam Hall, who plays Sam Dingle; Nicola Wheeler, who plays Nicola King; and Bhasker Patel, who plays Rishi Sharma."
The 60-year-old actress was spotted arriving at St Peter’s Church in an off-white cleavage-flashing gown, little ankle booties and a gorgeous veil with yellow flowers attached.
Chris, on the other hand, opted for a three-piece beige suit with blue sued shoes and a matching shirt underneath.
After the romantic ceremony, the happy couple moved to the nearby Paris Hotel with their guests for the boozy reception.
The pair began dating in 2008, shortly after Lesley joined the programme, and announced their engagement last year.
Meanwhile, this is the second time the 68-year-old actor has got married as he was previously wed to Caroline Hunt for 26 years before they went their separate ways in 2005.
Lesley has two daughters with ex-partner Christopher Guard.
