Emma Barton is exhausted trying to balance ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 42-year-old actress – who first appeared as Honey Mitchell from 2005 to 2008 before returning five years ago – has found it tough keeping up her filming commitments alongside training for the intense BBC Latin and ballroom competition.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (07.11.19), she said: "It is tiring – I will never say I’m tired again. Ever. I really won’t. It has been tough, but it’s lovely."
And while juggling both roles has been difficult, Emma insisted she is delighted to be appearing on "two of the biggest shows" on television.
Asked how much time she’d had to train for ‘Strictly’, the soap star admitted: "Not as long as everybody else. At the same time, I’m working on two of the biggest shows on telly, and I love to work.
"All I wanted to do as a little girl was to perform, and to be given this opportunity, I’m embracing it so much."
Last month, Emma’s professional dance partner Anton du Beke explained how the hectic schedule made training "challenging", but insisted she was doing "incredibly well".
He added: "She’s doing incredibly well. She is constantly working on ‘EastEnders’. She’s doing two massive jobs… She hasn’t had a lot of time but she’s such a pro."
Meanwhile, Emma herself had previously opened up on trying to juggle both programmes.
She said: "I am going to have to juggle filming ‘EastEnders’ as well as ‘Strictly’ at the moment. I’ll manage both as I’m a hard worker. Honey’s not going anywhere; she’s just swapping the tabard for a bit of sparkle for now."
