Gwen Stefani worries about embarrassing her children.
The ‘Used to Love You’ hitmaker – who has Kingston, 10, Zuma, seven, and two-year-old Apollo with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale – tries to think carefully about the things she is saying publicly so she doesn’t upset her kids.
She told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: "It’s because I have children. As a famous person, you start to think, ‘I can’t say all that because I’ll embarrass them or hurt them in some way.’
"And especially now because they can see everything and hear everything. But I’ve done nothing I’m ashamed of … Well, we all have a few things we’re ashamed of."
Meanwhile, the 46-year-old singer previously admitted she is "still heartbroken" over her divorce from Gavin, 50.
She said: "I’m not in a different place yet. I’m still heartbroken. You can’t have your family break up and still not be going through it a year later. I was just cleaning out a room in my house before I called you. It’s devastating."
However, Gwen is thrilled to be dating Blake Shelton and recently gushed about her new lover.
She shared: "I’m our biggest fan. I actually feel like I’m not in my own life, because I’m not. I’m in a different life all of a sudden. I’m so blessed and I feel like I believe in my path. Now there’s all these miracles around me! Trust me, I still can’t believe that happened and is still happening. For whatever reason, I was chosen to be in this position, and I’m so honored and more confident. And I look at it, like, it always works out.
"There was so much of an earthquake in my life. How did I survive that? I don’t know, but here we are and my life is full of so many blessings. I’m trying to really just be positive and grateful and look at it all, like this was all supposed to happen."
