Sir Elton John could tell Prince Harry was "in love" when he spent time with him last summer.
The 70-year-old singer was good pals with the flame-haired royal’s mum – who tragically passed away in a 1997 car crash aged 36 – and is delighted the prince has found his perfect match in former ‘Suits’ star Meghan Markle.
He said: "I spent some time with him in Sicily last summer and I could tell that he was totally in love, and he didn’t really discuss much personally but he said, ‘I’m in love’.
"I thought, ‘Good for you.’ Both those boys seem to have been ecstatically happy, and that’s all you want people to be."
The ‘Candle in the Wind’ hitmaker believes Diana would’ve been "proud" of both Harry, 33, and her son Prince William, 35, for the men they have grown into following her tragic passing.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he added: "She was just loved by people because she had that great ability, that her son Prince Harry has inherited, where she could walk into a room and make people feel at ease.
"She was very much loved. I loved her because she did so much for AIDS and she as a great friend to me.
"We had our fallings out but we reconciled at the end … she would be proud of her boys."
Elton has previously spoken about Harry sharing his mother’s "rare gift" of being able to put people "at ease".
Last year, he said: "People love [Harry]. He’s young and he’s got his mother’s ability to talk to people and make people feel at ease. Make them feel loved. Make them feel important and that’s a wonderful gift to have.
"It’s a very rare gift. He’s inherited it from his mother and he’s using it to good use."
